Einstein would be proud!
I have THE biggest news in the history of my life as a student...i mean this is HUGE, GIGANTIC, ENORMOUS, WHOPPING, TRIMANULOUS!! Let me share the story. So today we were down at the land. And Pastor Edward (he is really good at figuring out how to build things and how to set the stuff up on the land) was measuring how the tent would go up on the land. He had all these ropes and would stretch them across the whole plot then tie a knot in them then do that a million times. Well before he started this long process my dad asked me if that if i had the distance of the width and the length if i could figure out how long it would be diagonal in the middle. So i was thinking back all the way to 6th grade of when we learned about radius and stuff. Then it hit me! i had done problems jsut like this a week before in algebra! ooooooo....it was on now. i got a calculator and figured out the problem...within minutes. HERE IS THE BEST PART! Pastor Edward still wasn't convinced so he spent 1 1/2 hours using ropes and knots finally coming up with the same answer i had found long before...i was RIGHT!! algebra is one of those things that you say, maybe i would use this if i was in africa and needed to measure a big piece of land to put a tent up. Well, as J.B said, It happens! so that is my big news . If you want to try and do the problem the length is 127 and the width is 97. i will leave the answer in the comments tommorrow. good luck!

I didn't understand the question...but i was gonna try to figure it out! i'm surprised jenna didn't already figure it out! she is good like that! well i love ya and miss ya lots!

According to the Pythagorean theorem, your answer would be: 159.81 units (since you didn't say what the unit of measure was!) The square of the length (or height) plus the square of the width (or base) should equal the square of the diagonal (or hypotenuse). Am I right?
Mrs.Debbie is the WINNER except for i just rounded the answer to 160, but actually i did it the same way. of course i knew all those big words i just didn't use them! ;0) So the official answer is 160!
Hey Lain- I told Jess that i am a pretty loyal blogger reader of the both of your spots and i was hoping to get my moment of fame but mrs. debbie beat me to it, I guess I'll have to come up with a really funny story to tell you. Does stripping sugar cane with a butter knife count? your dad gave me that bright idea. it was yummy......two days later. love miss you! Auntie Dee
Hey Lain,
I'm so proud of you for using your Algebra, you get a huge WOOHOO from me!!! Now what are we gonna do about Jess? Looks like i need to send her over to Ms.Debbies house so she can learn it!!
Love You- Donna
