Yeah it is that time again! Time for Lain to post some more radical information about the very adventurous city of Nairobi! Today there are only a few problems! I am not sure what to write about! But have no fear cause whenever Lain is here she can make one little happening into one L O N G interesting post...hopefully, at least that is my goal! So lets see if i can get that touchdown while i'm up to bat!
The internet seems to be staying on so either our prayers are definetly going up so God is sending the blessings down or The internet place finally got some brains...woo hoo!! Actually while i am typing this the internet is out but obviously i will send it when it gets on...crazy internet stuff! I tell you!
This past weekend has been really fun. The highlight has been with my dad though. He loves sugar cane! Sugar Cane is a long pole (it kinda looks like a bamboo stick) but once you cut off the outside layer it is like hard sugar...in a way. I personally am not a huge fan of it but my dad LOVES it! So he got this bright idea that he could bring home one of the sticks, save it for the next day and cut it himself (see picture for "before and after"...then see the picture where he is attempting to make the before the after) Well, when he got to the part of taking the stick and cutting it, it was a lot harder than he expected! The sugar guys make it look so easy! It was hilarious watching him do it because first of all the knife wasn't super sharp, and...it was just so funny. the knife kept slipping and while he was cutting the top off the bottom was just suddenly kinda fall off. it is probably one of those things where you have to be there...but it was FUNNY!!! All in all he cut the sugar cane and ate it... Most of it!
We went over J.B and Gail's house on Friday night (they are the people that moved here to be involved with the church too) While we were eating there she had a few pink shirts sitting on top of the washer with shout all over them. so i asked what happened and one of her skirts bled on them and they were ruined and the stain wasn't coming out so i asked if i could have one and she gave me one...Now i was the one with the Bright Idea! TIE-DYE!!!! YEAH BABY! On Saturday i ran my mom to like a million different stores to find clothing dye. :0)... oh yeah i was so excited! i am gonna tie-dye this shirt and it is gonna be awesome! We got the dye and then went home. i wasted no time in getting everything ready to tie-dye it. when i was about to start my dad said do you know what you are doing? of course the answer was a calm "no, how hard could it be" then he told me to go look it up on the internet. i obeyed, went to one site, couldn't find what i wanted so i just started doing my own thing...hahahaha. i got two buckets filled them with the dye. rolled my shirt up and put rubber bands all over it. dipped the ends and VWALLA! i hung it on our laundry line and waited till it dried. Well, it didn't really turned out super "tie-dyedish" it is more like just dyed. but it isn't ruined and it looks ok! I did something wrong with the rubber bands...still not sure what. so there are no circles and you can't even see the pink! BUT, For the record i did do something with my brains and no internet. If you want to dye a shirt...i will be here to help!
Now let me just explain the "Amazing" picture! Let me just start by saying all these things start with a bright idea! So here is the Construction guys "bright idea!" "Lets take 5 15 foot ladders and then tie them one on top of the other with rope. Then one of us can climb up to the very top!" wouldn't you like to be the lucky guy to climb the ladders tied with rope! so that is a picture of their bright idea! We didn't stick around long enough to see what eventually happened but it looked really "AMAZING!"
I did it!!! I got all the pictures on here. it only took me one hour....But i did it!!! One by one...i finally fot smart! Oh yeah! Post yal later!
