I just wrote a LONG blog. i mean it was loonnngg. then without notice the window that i was about to publish my blog in just closed! do you know how frusterating that is!! i am about to kill this computer! actually i already killed mine now i am on my dads. :0). but AHHH, i could just kill this thing! i guess i better start over.
The folowing is the story of alainna jones' first night at the Naivasha Country Club:
Naivasha Country club, known for its wonderful places to watch birds, its scenery, the fact that it is right up against the lake, and the hippos that come on the camp grounds every night (just Beware: they will charge). It sounds like the perfect place to stay. It is considered the best hotel in Naivasha, to those who don't care about sleeping on cement...i'll get to that. We are now arriving into the country club. we have just checked in and are following the instructions to our room that the receptionist told us. It is pitch black out side and we have been walking (with our heavy luggage) for about five minutes and we still haven't made it to our room. Seriously, they couldn't have given us a room father away! We finally make it to our room in the land of far far away (i now know how shrek felt). The room looked pleasent enough. I walked in and sat on the bed. ok, now you have to think back aways for me. remember when you were a little kid and you would lay down on the side walk either drawing with chalk or at night looking at the stars. (well the smart kids laid in the grass to look at the stars but then again i wasn't that bright :0)
Anyways, that is what the bed felt like. They could have told me the mattress, or whatever it was, was a piece of cement and i would have believed them! It was as hard as a rock, no joke. Then i laid on the pillow. HA. pillow, i think not. i mean it had the appearence of a pillow but, as Evan put it, it was as thin as paper. No joke!! So, last night was not the most pleasent night sleep i have ever gotten. actually i think i could have gone out and slept on the porch and it would have been more comforatble. but hey all part of the experience right!!!
So far far away, bed as a rock, pillow thinner than paper. That is the sum up of what happened last night. I have gotten smart and am taking my own pillow tonight. i know, i will sleep in luxury! So only 2 more nights to go and i get to sleep at my home sweet home. Sometimes you forget how mch you love your own bed.
Me and Evan slept the hour and half back to Nairobi. We had to drive back here to pick up Pastor Ben Moussa. He has been traveling since Sunday, on a bus, to come and preach at this conference. (today is Friday) (and we complain about a family road trip to california if you have to drive instead of flying) Now we are headed back to Naivasha. Woo hoo. I sometimes get a little lost in all the preaching since everything is being translated. All of you who have been to conference know how that is. I am getting better at paying attention but it is still a bit hard! I do good as long as i am taking notes. So if anyone wants the notes from the Kenya conference just tell me! :0)
I miss you all and will talk to you soon!
